The Commission International de l'Eclairage created
this graphical representation to show the eye's sensitivity to
light. The shape and scale of the diagram are a result of
plotting a linear visual response to light stimuli. The
spectral frequencies are shown around the horseshoe shaped
portion of the graph. All of the colours combine to create
White in the lower middle of the graph.
Earl F. Glinn II set up a website that
explores colour in the Computer Lab
